Valley villa hotspring resort room for rent in Dali, Yunnan, China 放大

Dali is an important tourist hot spot in southwestern Yunnan province which boasts rich tourist resources and largest number of minority groups in the country. As a legendary paradise, Dali is located on a fertile plateau between the Cangshan Mountains to the west and Erhai Lake to the east. It is the ancient capital of the Bai kingdom Nanzhao, which flourished in the area during the 8th and 9th centuries.  The area is famous for its natural beauty and the ethnic culture of the Bai people.

Dali has many tourist attractions such as:

1. "Three Pagodas"

The most famous sight in Dali, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (10th century), some of the oldest structures in southern China.

2. The ancient city of Dali (Dali Gucheng)

You may have heard of as the perfect place to take a break from the rest of China and just relax. Dali, along with Yangshuo near Guilin, is one of China's backpacker's paradises. Here you'll find unrestricted rest and relaxation, plenty of budget hostels, inexpensive western food, and friendly local people. Some travelers may be confused when the bus from Kunming to Dali drops them off in Dali City, less than an hour to the south (actually the city of Xiaguan and the seat of Dali prefecture). The travel paradise of Dali is known by the locals as Dali Gucheng. This Dali is arguably one of the best tourist attractions in Yunnan and a nationally renowned cultural city. The city was first built in the 15th year of the Emperor Hongwu during the Ming Dynasty.

The ancient city of Dali is a great place to relax and explore. The streets and alleys crisscross throughout the town in a typical "chess board" pattern. All the buildings are roofed with dark blue tiles and the tall walls of the town's Bai ethnic houses are white and gray. Since the climate is almost perfect and the locals are fond of planting trees and flowers, there tend to be gardens in every home, with camellia, azalea and orchid sprouting forth. Streams from snowcapped Cangshan Mountain (in the west) flow through the city, finally joining Erhai Lake to the east. Also in the east past Erhai Lake is a remote vision of Jizu Mountain, one of the holy mountains of Chinese Buddhism. Within the city you can explore the famous Three Pagodas, the market of the March Fair and much more! The ancient city (Dali Gucheng) is not large by any means and you can easily walk from one end to the other in a morning.

3. Foreigner’s street

One of the ancient city of Dali's core attractions for foreign travelers is Huguo Road, also known with locals as Yangren Jie or "Foreigner's Street". This street is where the famous cafes and guesthouses cluster along with souvenir shops and other interesting stores to create a little tourist paradise. Huguo Road is the major reason that Dali has developed into a backpacker's paradise with cheap beer, Western food, and lodging. Currently, forty thousand tourists visit Dali annually and "Foreigner's Street" has expanded into neighboring streets including Bo'ai Road and Fuxing Road.

4. Butterfly Spring (Hudie Quan)

Located on the peak of Cangshan Mountain, about 27 km north of the ancient city of Dali, The spring is regarded as a symbol of love among the local Bai people who believe that two lovers committed suicide here in order to be together. Their wish was granted when they were made into butterflies that return to the site every spring when the tree flowers bloom. At the southern end of the spring, is a museum of butterflies displaying 45,000 butterfly samples belonging to 400 species and 11 families. Around April 15 each year, young Bai come here with their lovers to socialize, dance and sing.

5. Erhai Lake.

The name of Erhai Lake (Erhai Hu) literally means "Ear Sea" because it is shaped like an ear. As it is also 1,972 meters above sea level the lake is also known as the "plateau pearl". Looking down from the  Cangshan Mountains in the west, the lake resembles a huge silver mirror under the sun.

6. Cangshan Mountain.

Also known as Diancangshan, runs north and south just west of Dali and northwest of Xiaguan. The mountain is most famous for its natural scenery of streams and paths through the mountains. Melted snow on the upper slopes of Cangshan, forms the mountain streams which are clear and pristine. The snowcapped peaks are often shrouded in fog and appear imposing and mysterious. Like the rest of Dali and Yunnan, the mountains are lush and green with trees, flowers and other wild vegetation.

Hello, I would like to have more information about your ad. How big is
this apartment? Does it have a kitchen to cook, and a refrigerator? What
about washer and dryer facilities?

Hello, nice to hear from you.
First, please link: http://i.cn.yahoo.com/daweilee/blog/p_3/, for more information. You can find the detail pictures about this room here: http://photos.i.cn.yahoo.com/album-de3NkrU1erG4J_AIHCfzpw--?cq=1&aid=a9e8#doc-body. I want to tell you it’s convenient to go to the Xiaguan town, there is a bus route No 21 link the hot spring resort and the Xiaguan town.
At first I offered my resort room to the hotel management company(booking a same level room costs 400 Chinese yuan per day at least), but now I withdrew my room back. So there is not a kitchen to cook in this room, but it’s convenient to eat outside the resort or in the Xiaguan town. There are a lot of restaurants near the resort(actually Tangzipu Village), more restaurants in Xiaguan town, and the foods are abundant, fresh and not expensive.
There is not a refrigerator either. In fact, a refrigerator is not needed. The summer is cool, lower than 28 ℃.
There is not a washer either. I think it’s easy to find a washing shop in Xiaguan town, for clothes or bed sheet (there will be enough spare bedding).
There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. And there is a wardrobe.
The value lies in the mineral hot spring, the fresh air, the blue sky, the crystal clear stream, and the opposite green mountains, the comfortable climate.
Best regards to you.
David Li
