Discovery

Today i will say something about discovery. It is so important that there
won’t this colorful world if no discoveries. Small discovery, such as
mp3, makes you happiness somewhat; middle discovery, such as
mobile phone, car and plane, introduce comfort living conditions to lots
of persons while large discovery, such as the structure of DNA, can
change the history thoroughly. But why i begin my conversation with
such a seemingly old topic? Is it occurred to suddenly?
The answer is yes. This noon when i eating in the restaurant in our
institute, for the first time,i happened to find there was a roll of paper
hanging on the wall, just near the entrance of that restaurant. Then i kept
asking myself, how could this happen? Why i have never noticed it
before? On my hesitation, i asked the one, just a stranger, sitting beside
me and eating his lunch, “how long has this roiled paper been there?”,
He looked at me astonishingly, “Is there a roll of paper there?”, Then,
during the course of my meal, i found there were only few persons go to
the roiled paper directly after finishing their lunch, which was sure of
cues of that roiled paper’s long time being stayed there.
From this insignificant thing, i can’t help thinking of that the same
things must be happened everyday in the research field. Lots of
important cues have been neglected by ourselves even though we are
eager for them, so as a result, basic scientific problems may lose their
answers by their hunters. Yes, to me, keep busy everyday, but gain
nothing more meaningful, this may be the reason.
Discovery needs not only diligence, but also keen observation.
