我电话面试了3次没有拿到On-site.
Initial interview, HR ask me C++ questions and I passed.
First interview by an chinese engineer, 1/3 experience, passed, 1/3 C++
passed, 1/3 data structure/algorithm (no prepared, failed). Overall is
positive, go to next phone interview.
Second interview by an Indian hiring manager, 1/3 experience (storage and
network, very impressed him), 1/3 C++ very good, 1/3 algorithm (prepared, ok
), overall result is positive, go to next phone interview.
THird interview by Indian team leader, 1/3 experience (ok), 1/3 C++ good, 1/
3 algorithm, even better prepared, I felt my answer are good.

The last phone interview I am very well prepared. At the beginning of the
interview the guy sounds very arrogant, at the end of the interview the guy
sounds happy. Then I feel very confident about this interview. But this guy
only gave me overall Neutral in this interview.

What I heard is, typically only two phone interviews, one positive and one
neutral, you should get on-site.

But my case is very unusual, I got three phone interview, each 45 minutes,
Overall I got 2 positive and 1 neutral, and I did not get on-site.

I think the problem in on the last guy, it is typical that "indian does not
want to hire competitive chinese guy in the team" reason. So be very careful
when you interview with them, very unpredictable.


Following questions for example:
what is thread synchronication.
what is polymo
why base class destructor is virtual
are you familiar with template
HOW many STL containers you know.
are you familiar with exception
etc..

how many layers in Fibre Channel, how many layer in network, how do they map?
difference between macro and inline.
difference between inheritance and composition.
storage of binary tree.
storage of hash.
how to lock a binary tree (lock whole tree versus lock half).

Not really. I would not say I don't qualify for VMware on C++ and other
experiences.

Before the interview, HR will tell you the name of them interviewer. I took
the name and do a search on Google, than I know the nationality of the
interviewer.

It is actually four times. Before the three technical interview, 45 minutes
each. There is the 15 minutes HR interview, the HR is asking me C++
questions like "why destructor in base class is virtual?"

I think this is only the case for me, normally there are only two phone
interview, (if the interviewer are nice to you, or you met right interviewer
), one positive and one neutral, you'll get on-site.

不过那是俺的第一个on-site,没有什么经验，failed掉了。
